Comet Observers' Forum na adresi

http://correio.cc.fc.ul.pt/~apereira/index.html

Hello,

Thank you very much for the observations. These had a special
meaning for me, as they came from a country that has been in my
heart since 1999. Like me, many people in here did not agree
with the barbarian agression against your country, and there
were many demonstrations. Years may pass, but we shall never
forget the innocent people killed by the barbarian bombings in
your town, in Grdelica, in Belgrade, and many other sites.

With friendship. All the best!

Alfredo Pereira

AAVSO ALERT NOTICE 288 (August 27, 2001)

1818-30B NOVA SAGITTARII 2001 NO. 2

We have been informed by the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams
(IAU Circular 7692) that Alfredo Pereira, Cabo da Roca, Portugal, visually
discovered an apparent nova in Sagittarius at magnitude 7.6 on Aug. 26.866
UT during his regular patrol with 14x100 binoculars. Nothing was visible
at the location of the nova down to magnitude about 8.5 on Aug. 21.9 and
22.96 UT or down to magnitude about 7.5-7.8 on Aug. 25.95 UT. A. Hale,
Cloudcroft, NM, reported nothing was visible at the nova's location on the
Digitized Sky Survey.

C. Jacques, Belo Horizonte, Brazil, measured CCD frames taken by G. Nappi
on Aug. 27.00 UT at the request of the Central Bureau, and reports the
position of the star as:

R.A. = 18h 24m 46.04s Decl. = -30 degrees 00' 41.1" (2000)

Samo malo vise od nedelju dana zatim Pereira je ponovio svoj podvig i vizuelno pronasao jos jednu, ovaj put nesto sjajniju novu zvezdu!

AAVSO ALERT NOTICE 289 (September 6, 2001)

1805-30 NOVA SAGITTARII 2001 NO. 3

We have been informed by the Central Bureau for Astronomical Telegrams
(IAU Circular 7706) that Alfredo Pereira, Cabo da Roca, Portugal, and
William Liller, Vina del Mar, Chile, have independently discovered an
apparent nova in Sagittarius.

Pereira's visual discovery was made on Sep. 5.846 UT at magnitude 7.0,
with strong orange color, during his regular patrol with 14x100
binoculars. Nothing was visible at the location of the nova down to visual
magnitude about 8.5 on Sep. 4.8 UT or down to magnitude about 8.0-8.5 on
Sep. 1.8 or 2.8 UT. Pereira made the following additional observations:
Sep. 5.868 UT, 7.0; 5.880, 6.9; 5.898, 7.0; 5.904, 6.8; 5.928, 6.9.

Liller's photographic discovery was made on two films taken Sep. 3.979 UT,
using Kodak Technical Pan film and an orange filter, that showed the nova
at magnitude 10.0. His confirming CCD image of Sep. 6.039 UT (taken
through clouds) showed the nova at CCDV (broadband) magnitude 7.27.

A. Hale, Cloudcroft, NM, measured a CCD image taken Sep. 6.1 UT and
reported the position of the nova (estimated by him at visual magnitude
7.0) as:

R.A. = 18h 11m 46.01s Decl. = -30 degrees 30' 50.9" (2000)

Koristim ovu priliku da mu najtoplije cestitam ovaj sjajan i redak uspeh!!!

Naravno moji kometni izvestaji su publikovani a na ovoj listi uspeo sam da se probijem ispred svih:
