B...Charles S. Morris (Fillmore, CA) [The comet is located in the worst
part of the sky for me...low over Fillmore and the significantly more
distant Los Angeles. This, of course, might have had an impact on my
negative tail observation. Still, the comet was faintly visible to the
naked eye. Visually, this has got to be the most boring 4th magnitude
comet I have ever seen. No sign of a tail except for an elongated coma...No
sign of a tail with a 40cm SCT + ST9E CCD as the images were displayed.
A preliminary look at the CCD images does suggest some sort of jetting
action in the inner coma similar to what Gordon Garradd's images showed.
Hopefully, things will improve as the comet gets higher in the sky.
Obviously, if there is still a tail, it is quite faint.]
