
Fractured comet mosaic
Although you won't believe it after seeing this mosaic, Comet 73P/Schwassmann-Wachmann
is continuing to dim, and won't brighten anytime soon.
This mosaic shows fragments B (left) and C (right) of the
fractured comet.
Gerald Rhemann and Michael Jäger imaged the comet June 1, 2006,
from Farm Tivoli in Namibia.
Equipment used: 8-inch Astrograph telescope and Fingers Lake
Instrumentation 6303E CCD camera for an LRGB image of 120, 120, 120,
and 240 seconds, respectively
